Founded in 1966 by George Greenough and Michael Cundith in a barn in Carpinteria, Wilderness Surfboards played a key role in the shortboard revolution. With locations in Santa Barbara and Angourie, Australia, the brand evolved with contributions from Richie West, Dan Hazard, and current owner Bob Duncan. Since 1970, Duncan has hand-shaped every single Wilderness board as he continued refining Greenough’s innovative board and fin designs. Their custom fin technology, produced by True Ames, continues to push the boundaries of performance.
